Using the tools

Everything on this site is free to use, including commercially, with no account and no attribution required. Check any domain you own, administer, or are otherwise allowed to look up. Every record we read is already public: anyone can query the same DNS from a terminal, and we do nothing you could not do yourself with dig.

Please do not automate the tools against the site. There are rate limits, and hitting them hard enough to affect other people will get the traffic blocked. If you want this programmatically, write to us and we will talk about it.

What we promise about accuracy

Every finding cites the specification it comes from, and the engines are unit tested against recorded DNS responses. We take being right seriously, because it is the only reason to trust anything else here.

That said, DNS is a live system read from one place at one moment. Records propagate, resolvers disagree, and a result can be a few minutes behind reality. We show the disagreement rather than hide it when we see one, but you should confirm anything critical against your own DNS before you act.

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee that following a prescription will fix your delivery, and we are not liable for what happens when you change your DNS. Authentication records affect whether your mail arrives. Read each change, understand it, and if you are not sure, ask somebody who does this for a living. That is the whole reason the consultation form exists.

Consultation work

Asking for a consultation creates no obligation on either side. Paid work is agreed separately in writing before anything starts, with scope and price fixed up front.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Nothing here is retroactive.
